Thin, and easy to see through if you are copying artwork underneath, when you don’t want to use tracing paper.. I use it to trace over photos that I am turning into illustrations. Great for sketching.

This is the paper we are using in my beginners calligraphy class. Ink flows smoothly onto the paper. No skipping or drag. The paper is a good weight but not too thick, so I can see through it enough to see the guidelines I use toKeep my letters straight. Great paper!

Best layout paper that I know of: the tooth (texture) and semi-transparent nature of this paper is idea for doing quick iterations of rough pencil drawing – one atop another. I’ve used this brand / type of paper for years for storyboard and concept drawings. Since storyboarding and concept drawing have migrated from the drawing board to the computer, local art stores (when they still can be found) don’t general stock this stuff. Though I work on a Cintiq drafting monitor, I still prefer to hand-sketch my roughs and clean them up on the computer after scanning. This is the paper I prefer for this task.
