I am an art teacher in search for the perfect silver colored pencil for my students. I tested three: a sliver welding pencil, a prisma verithin and this prisma premier.Pros: crisp writing, excellent value scale, soft even texture, highly blendable, great price (half of what art supply companies ask)Cons: softer lead, does not cover well (more of a medium opacity), not the darkest but close.If you want blending, and shading this is the pencil for you. My students like more coverage and would use as a highlighter, so I’m ultimately picking the prisma verithin. However, I am keeping these for my more advanced students who want more nuanced color (most middle schoolers aren’t there yet. This might be more above their skill level)It’s an outstanding pencil as a colored pencil. It even writes well on black paper.
