This sketch book is very nice and well worth the money. It has a normal paper texture but a little thicker. I only have used color pencils and markers and the one problem with markers (at least with alcohol markers) is they bleed badly. The cover is a thick cardboard like the back so it have withstood traveling in my bag the pages got a little bent up but it seems ok it is pretty durable. It has perforated pages so you can easily take the paper out and use it somewhere else. Versatility is great with most dry mediums. Never tried water color or paint yet. And it is a very simple sketch book. Colors show up well in the sketch book. Totally worth itBest wishes
